Art Rocks in the City - Kelowna 2012

This was a large-scale group project of the KSNS. We applied for a arts grant from the City of Kelowna with a well-prepared presentation outlining a plan to have several large marble sculptures on display outdoors under tents at the Rotary Centre for the Arts Daily Courier Performance Court. The KSNS was leasing a studio at the Centre at the time, so this is where we were able to store our tools for the job.

The Daily Courier Performance Court located on the SouthWest corner of the Rotary Centre for the Arts in downtown Kelowna's culture district.

The Art Rocks in the City Sculpture project ran for 4 months and was seen by thousands of local and tourists to the city. Artists worked on the sculptures at various times throughout the day, seven days a week for the duration of the vent.

Final sculptures were displayed for a one-month final show at locations throughout the inside of the Rotary Centre for the Arts.

Another aspect of the project was to involve kids in the design of a special stone sculpture that would be donated to the city to be housed at future location.
